Avid viewer Joseph, submitted the following observation yesterday describing Edgar’s first flight….

he was standing on the edge of the window box facing the camera then suddenly disappeared so i went to look out my window and saw him on the power pole (clever Edgar to do a backflip takeoff)

after a few minutes he flew and landed on the power line just outside my window and sat there looking at me for about two or three minutes and not at all alarmed that i was standing there watching him then he crowed a few times and within a few moments mom or dad flew down from the roof of the Pivotal building to keep an eye on him and probably me

then
without any obvious coaching (mom or dad flew off up the street) flew by himself across to the entry canopy and spent about five minutes there then flew over to the lamppost for another five minutes or so then flew back to the power pole for a minute or two then back to the nest

of course maybe it was just mom and dad playing a trick on me and Edgar was just hiding off camera but maybe not you’ll have to watch through the window to see if the kid is really out and about and not just lurking in the corner
